There are SOME RESTRICTIONS on the hardware supported at this time.
A 320 or 540 Visual Workstation. MUST BE FACTORY SYSTEM! Pre-production or beta systems MAY NOT WORK.
This procedure permits you to PROTECT and multi-boot with any number of other OSs on your Visual Workstation.
The CD-ROM drive can be on ANY IDE bus as either master or slave.
You CAN leave any installed PCI cards in place. No guarantee that their drivers will work, but the machine will at least boot (this is an improvement from the past).
Might be wise to have a couple of additional floppies in case there are any corruption problems with the first set.
For example, of you see an error message along the lines of "range check failure" when trying to run something from a floppy it's very likely that you have a bad floppy.
Aside from lower-level kernel stuff and X server any distribution of Linux should work fine.
